DH GUIDE FOR BEGGINERS.

THE FOLLOWING GUIDE CAN BE TAKEN BY THE RIDERS WHO ARE STARTING THEIR LONGBOARDING ADVENTURES AND SHREDDING SOME SLOPES THAT ARE NOT REALLY HARD TO RIDE AND WITH NO CURVES AT ALL, THIS WILL HELP YOU OUT TO GET READY FOR THE HARDEST ROADS.

*SLIDE GLOVES
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO RIDE YOUR BOARD FOR SOME DH ACTION WEARING A SLIDE GLOVE IS ESSENTIAL, THESE GLOVES WILL SAVE YOUR ASS MOST OF THE TIMES, IS REALLY NAIVE AND RISKY TO PRACTICE DH WITHOUT HAVING THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE USE OF THE SLIDE GLOVES, YOU CAN TRUST IN THEM AS THE PERFECT ASSISTANT TO REACH A TOTAL STOP IN AN EMERGENCY OR JUST TO REDUCE YOUR SPEED.

TO HAVE THE BEST RUN  YOU HAVE TO CONTROL THE SLIDE GLOVES USING RIGHT HAND AND LEFT HAND, OBVIOUSLY THIS CAN TAKE A WHILE AND YOU WILL BE AT THE TOP OF THE HILL AS MANY TIME YOU NEED, THIS IS FUN AND ALSO A BASIC SKILL.

*PRE DRIFT

ONCE YOU YOU CONTROL YOU SLIDES USING THE GLOVES YOU CAN USE THIS SKILL TO TAKE DEEP CURVES USING A “PRE DRIFT”

BUT.. WHAT IS A PRE DRIFT, USING EASY WORDS A PRE DRIFT IS THE SLIDE THAT THE RIDERS DO BEFORE A DEEP CURVE SO THEY CAN REDUCE THE SPEED AND MAKE THE BEST LINE POSSIBLE TO GO THRU IT, SO YOU CAN TAKE THE CURVE THE FASTEST POSSIBLE WITH HAVING NO RISK TO END OUT OF THE ROAD.

IT DEPENDS IF YOUR REGULAR OR GOOFY AND IF THE CURVE ENDS TO THE LEFT OR TO THE RIGHT YOU WILL HAVE TO USE A COLEMAN OR A TOESIDE DRIFT.

YOU NEED TO USE PRE DRIFTS WHEN YOU VISIT SOME SPOTS AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :

-TO CARVE BEFORE ANY SLIDE
-KEEP YOUR SIGHT AND SHOULDERS IN THE DIRECTION YOU WANT TO GO.
- KEEP YOUR WHEELS AND EQUIPMENT IN GOOD CONDITIONS.
- DO NOT FORGET TO KEEP YOUR ROAD LINE IF THIS IS A 2 WAYS ROAD.

THE DRIFTS WHEN YOU ARE  RACING ARE NOT ONLY TO AVOID CRASHES AGAINST THE BALES, BUT ALSO TO TRACK THE BEST LINES SO YOU CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE APEX CURVES DRAWING A STRAIGHT AND FAST LINE.

- TUCK POSITION

IS THE RIDERS AERODYNAMIC POSITION, YOU HAVE TO LOCK YOUR FOOT AT THE FRONT OF YOUR DECK AND THEN SET THE KNEE OF YOUR REAR LEG INSIDE OF THE FRONT ONE, WHEN YOU ARE STARTING CAN BE DIFFICULT TO FIND THE BEST TUCK POSITION, EACH RIDER HAS A PERSONAL TUCK, ONCE YOU FOUND  THE BEST POSITION WILL HELP YOU TO GO FASTER AND MAKE PREDICTABLE RUNS..

A COUPLE OF TIPS ARE:

-KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT
-SET YOUR KNEE AGAINST YOUR CHEST
- MAKE IT COMFORTABLE

*FOOT BRAKE
FOOT BRAKE IS THE FIRST BRAKE SKILL YOU SHOULD KNOW WHEN YOU ARE A BEGINNER, YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR SHOE SOLE TO CRATE FRICTION AGAINST THE ROAD SO YOU CAN REDUCE YOUR SPEED.

MANY RIDERS USE IT DEPENDING ON THE TRACK THEY ARE SKATING, AND ALSO IS AN EVERYDAY SKILL TO USE AS AN ALL TERRAIN RIDER.

-SAFETY.
SKATING IN OPEN ROADS IS DANGEROUS THAT IS WHY IS CONSIDERED AN EXTREME SPORT, BUT IN ORDER YOU CAN BE SAFE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING TIPS:

SAFETY CAR
THE FIRST ADVICE IS TO HAVE A CAR BEHIND THE RIDERS THAT IS TAKING OF THE REST OF THE CARS NOT TO PASS AND MAYBE INJURY A RIDER, IF YOU AS A RIDER FALL DOWN , THIS CAR WILL PICK YOU UP IMMEDIATELY.

RESPECT YOUR ROAD LINE
IF YOU ARE IN A 2 WAYS ROAD DO NOT CROSS THE YELLOW LINE, IS YOUR LIFE LINE.

SKATE UNDER YOUR OWN LIMITS
YOU HAVE TO SKATE UNDER YOUR OWN LIMIT, UPGRADING SKILL TAKES SOME TIME, HAVE FUN AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR FRIENDS KNOWLEDGE.

GOOD VIBES, SKATE SAFE I HOPE THIS INFORMATION CAN BE HELPFUL, CHEERS FROM YOUR FRIEND PAL EDDY, USE YOUR SAFETY GEAR AND THE BEST WHEELS, MONDO WHEELS.
